In June this year, after a 24 month program, Synergy obtained practical completion for the Wollongbar Sporting Fields project by Ballina Shire Council. Synergy delivered a functional and state-of-the-art community facility for the Ballina and Lismore region, catering to multiple sporting disciplines, by adapting to many design challenges and operational constraints, including the introduction of asbestos impacted imported fill.
As the principal contractor, Synergy proactively engaged with stakeholders to provide insight, advice, scheduling de-confliction and feedback in relation to the development activities and progress. The engagement of local subcontractors and purchasing via local suppliers, fostered positive local community relationships and reduced project stand-down overheads.
Project finalisation occurred within a limited budget. Synergy would like to publicly acknowledge the local community and Ballina Shire Council, for their support and assistance in the delivery of this important community sporting complex.
In recognition of Synergy’s achievements in successfully undertaking the Wollongbar project, we were a finalist in Category 2 of the 2017 NSW Civil Contractors Federation (CCF) Earth Awards.
