Treatment of contaminated ground water adjacent to new rail line construction. Unique site specific technical issues influenced the strategy for the project, including high concentration levels of nitrogen, phosphorus, bacteria, faecal coliforms, ammonia, iron, nickel and zinc within the ground. Synergy designed, constructed and operated a multi-barrier Water Treatment Plant to remove these contaminants that were recovered from ground and surface waters generated from rail construction activities across a 200ha site.
Working within and adjacent to active rail corridors, waste management solutions were provided through transporting and disposing 5,000 tonnes of General Solid Waste and 25,000 tonnes of General Solid Waste - CT1, to appropriately licenced facilities.
