Working within the Macquarie Point precinct, Synergy was contracted to demolish the former concrete batching plant adjacent to the Tasman Highway major arterial to enable future redevelopment works. The remedial works involved the demolition of concrete structures, segregation of historic fill materials and waste stream management for offsite disposal or beneficial reuse.
The projects EPA approved Remedial Action Plan outlined the contamination clean up objectives for the site. Synergy undertook targeted remedial excavations in pre identified hotspots across multiple locations throughout the precinct. Due to varying contamination levels across the site, different remedial techniques were adopted to not only minimise waste generation but also enable the reuse of material meeting the sites cleanup criteria. On portions of the site elevated lead and hydrocarbon impacted material was identified requiring onsite remediation where active TRH bioremediation and lead immobilisation processes were undertaken.
Synergy were excellent to work with on our various site remediation projects. Synergy’s staff are highly skilled, knowledgeable, approachable and professional and made a diffcult job easy. We encountered a range of latent conditions on site and Synergy dealt with all issues promptly and professionally.
