The strategic plan of Lismore Shire Council (LSC) required it to prioritise the introduction of surface drainage on the number 2 soccer field in Nimbin to improve the drainage and facilitate field recovery. Synergy was engaged by LSC to collaborate on the design and undertake the construction of the drainage system.
A 450mm x 450mm trench contained the peripheral mainline using perforated HDPE pipe leading to a winged turfed swale drain to drain stormwater offsite.
Two 100mm chain trenchers were used to install 450mm deep drainage lines perpendicular to the mainline at 3m centres. Approximately 2650lm of 65mm ag-pipe were placed inside the drainage lines and covered with 14mm minus graded bluestone to provide the required drainage properties.
