Rio Tinto Alcan Gove engaged Synergy to design, construct and operate a trial Ferrous Sulphate Batching Plant. The system exceeded expectations and after minor upgrades the plant is still operational today.
The continuous operation of the Ferrous Sulphate Batching Plant is essential to
the remediation of the local environment and the ultimate transfer of land back to
the traditional owners.
The provision of the Ferrous Sulphate allows for caustic tailings to be treated and
removed from the storage ponds. This process removes heavy metals ensuring
Rio Tinto adheres to their strict water discharge license agreements.
Synergy were the first to achieve a successful Ferrous
Sulphate Batching Plant established in a high-humidity
climate.
