Synergy was engaged by Sydney Water Corporation to perform hazardous building material removal and demolition of a disused Water Pumping Station located in Davidson, Sydney NSW.
The Davidson Water Pumping Station played a crucial role as a Sydney Water Asset, catering to the municipal water supply in Sydney’s Northern Beaches. However, as part of comprehensive network upgrades, the pump station became obsolete and not required for continued use.
Synergy was engaged by SWC to undertake extensive hazardous material removal, safe retrieval of reusable SWC assets, complete staged demolition of the two story brick pump house and associated subsurface site infrastructure. The presence of persistent hazardous building materials including, vermiculite, bituminous asbestos, bonded asbestos sheeting, and lead paint necessitated significant efforts for their safe removal under licensed conditions before any demolition could take place.
