Synergy was contracted by Mid Coast Council to construct an engineered landfill cell, Leachate Management system and Leachate storage dam. The construction of the new landfill cell at the Taree Waste Management Centre was a pivotal project for Mid Coast Council (MCC) as this facility is designated as the regional disposal point for the local resident’s future waste requirements. All works were completed within the stringent environmental and legislative requirements of this licensed facility.
In addition to the landfill cell, a new leachate management system and Leachate storage dam was designed and constructed to meet the needs of the site and the additional waste volumes to be processed on-site. The construction works were completed within an operational waste management facility and required constant communication with site operators and council staff.
