Synergy were contracted to treat surface and groundwater generated from construction activities on the Crown Sydney Hotel Resort project located at Barangaroo South in Sydney.
Synergy developed a multi-barrier treatment system, utilising a variety of specialised proprietary techniques to systematically reduce contaminants before treated water is discharged to Darling Harbour.
Due to the environmental, social and economic significance of the receiving waters and ecosystem the plant was designed with redundant system components as a failsafe to achieve discharge criteria on the first pass.
The Environmental Protection License (EPL) for the gasworks contaminated site has 42 listed analytes including ammonia, cyanide, heavy metals, phenols, Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs), BTEXN and Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPHs). During the treatment of 27.4 million litres of water, Synergy has achieved the stringent discharge criteria for 99.9% of the samples
“Synergy’s experience and equipment enables them to provide well thought out, effective solutions that others in the industry are simply unable to achieve.”
