Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy (DNRME) engaged Synergy to undertake the remediation of waste sludge storage dams at the former Linc Energy site in Hopeland, QLD. The site was formerly managed by Linc Energy who used the area to perform underground coal gasification trials which ultimately failed. In June 2016, Linc Energy disclaimed the site and DNRME took over the management. Since then, DNRME have been investigating, isolating, decommissioning, decontaminating and dismantling facilities at the site.

The strategic plan of Lismore Shire Council (LSC) required it to prioritise the introduction of surface drainage on the number 2 soccer field in Nimbin to improve the drainage and facilitate field recovery. Synergy was engaged by LSC to collaborate on the design and undertake the construction of the drainage system.

The Narrabri Shire Council (NSC) owned and operated waste management facility provides for the waste disposal needs of approximately 13,000 residents in the LGA. Synergy was engaged to construct a new piggyback landfill cell to ensure the continuous provision of essential services. As part of the NSC strategic planning to cater for expected growth and ensure the Narrabri Community has adequate waste disposal capacity in the short term Synergy was contracted to construct the EPA approved Piggyback Cell 1.
