Woodburn Coraki Road Upgrade

Woodburn Coraki Road Upgrade

Synergy was engaged to undertake the reconstruction of two 500m segments of Woodburn Coraki Road.  The reconstruction was carried out as part of the flood recovery funding program. The project was an essential community project subject to stringent deadlines and funding requirements. Rural road construction plays a pivotal role in enhancing connectivity, fostering economic development, and improving the overall quality of life in remote areas.
Moree Waste Management Cell

Moree Waste Management Cell

Synergy was contracted by the Moree Plains Shire Council to excavate, stockpile and line the second stage of Landfill Cell 1 to meet the local residents’ future waste management needs.  The expansion of the Moree Waste Management facility will double the capacity available to the local residents. Operating within the current landfill site, works were coordinated with present site users and had minimal impact on the day-to-day running of the landfill operations.

Coomera Dredge Sediment Management Facility

Synergy was contracted by the Gold Coast Waterways Authority (GCWA) to design, construct and operate the proposed Coomera Dredge Sediment Management Facility (CDSMF). The CDSMF is a land-based facility designed to dewater and handle dredged sediment that is unsuitable for normal disposal options such as beach and/or foreshore nourishment or offshore deposition from the Coomera River.  Synergy, collaborating with expert partners, delivered GCWA a design with a twenty five year operational lifespan and RPEQ Certification to fulfill project requirements.

Condong Stockpile Discharge Management

Cape Byron Management Pty Ltd required the rectification of the Fuel Storage Area (FSA) at their co-generation plant. The FSA covers 50,000m 2 and is the plants’ storage area for surplus bagasse fuel from the sugar mill crushing season operations, which is stored for use in the non-crush season. The scope of works required stripping 50,000m 2 of the existing FSA to the required subbase design level, importation and placement of 23,000t of subgrade material to the required design height and grade.  
Barangaroo, Stage 1A Development

Barangaroo, Stage 1A Development

Synergy provided groundwater extraction, excavation, dewatering, surface stormwater collection, water treatment, sludge dewatering, immobilisation, waste management and various remediation services for the Barangaroo redevelopment site. Barangaroo was Australia’s first gasworks providing Sydney’s electricity supply between 1839 and 1928. After it was decommissioned the area was used as a commercial wharf built on reclaimed land using landfill.

Wollongbar Sporting Field Complex

Synergy was engaged by Ballina Shire Council to construct an international-standard sporting facilities for the local community. The Wollongbar Sporting Fields Complex was designed to bridge two towns through a sporting and nature complex.  This substantial infrastructure endeavor brought forth an internationally standard sporting facility, comprising 6 tennis courts, 4 netball courts, 2 rugby fields with lighting, 1 AFL field, 4 car parks and accompanying infrastructure.
Lake Cochran PFAS Water Treatment

Lake Cochran PFAS Water Treatment

Synergy designed and constructed a large-scale multi-barrier water treatment facility to address the overflow from Lake Cochran. This area receives a substantial flow of PFAS-contaminated surface and groundwater before exiting the RAAF Base Williamtown. Synergy’s bespoke WTP has been operational on the Lake Cochran (LC) project since December 2016 and has successfully treated over 1.3 billion litres of PFAS-impacted water.
