Brunswick Sewage Treatment Plant Demolition

Synergy was engaged by Byron Shire Council and Public Works Advisory to demolish and remediate the decommissioned Brunswick Heads Sewage Treatment Plant (STP). The objective of the works was to ensure all unsuitable materials were encapsulated on-site, mitigating health impacts and environmental risks. Works included hazardous material removal, demolition of above and below-ground concrete infrastructure and contaminated soil excavation.

Shaws Bay Eastern Arm Erosion

As part of Ballina Shire Council’s Coastal Management Plan for the Shaws Bay area, Synergy were engaged to remediate extensive shoreline erosion that had occurred along portions of the eastern arm of Shaws Bay.  Remediation works involved the reconstruction and repair of existing rock walls that had deteriorated due to tidal impact. Additionally, rock groyne construction was undertaken in the waterways to safeguard the existing beach reserve.
Lennox Head Soccer Fields

Lennox Head Soccer Fields

Ballina Shire Council engaged Synergy to upgrade the soccer fields and cricket pitch for the Lennox Head community. Improvements were necessary to elevate playing conditions and cater to the increasing number of participants on the sports field. The project involved the installation of irrigation infrastructure, sub-surface drainage, field illumination, potable/reuse water systems, stormwater management, a sealed car park with 200 spaces and widening of the roads.

Linear Park Remediation

Synergy was engaged by Sydney Water Corporation (SWC) to undertake remediation and civil services on three parcels of contaminated land to remediate and landscape to ensure long-term suitability for public use. Located in the heart of Mascot the parcels of land had a long history of fly tip waste and uncontrolled fill importation due to the suburban renewal and high-density apartment construction occurring in the vicinity.

Bong Bong Town Centre

Synergy was engaged by Amisco to undertake and facilitate the demolition and remediation works of a former Clay Target Club, Shooting Range and associated site structures. The aim of the remediation works was to make the site suitable for development for the future Town Centre with construction of commercial and residential buildings by Wollongong City Council. Initial works on the former Clay Target Club site includes the demolition of a two-story club house with various amenity buildings and a network of clay traps.

Synergy were contracted to treat surface and groundwater generated from construction activities on the Crown Sydney Hotel Resort project located at Barangaroo South in Sydney. Synergy developed a multi-barrier treatment system, utilising a variety of specialised proprietary techniques to systematically reduce contaminants before treated water is discharged to Darling Harbour.

The Moorebank Precinct Intermodal Works is underway to construct one of the most important freight infrastructure projects being developed in Australia.

Warnervale Former Landfill Remediation

Synergy were engaged by Central Coast Council to remediate the former Landfill site located at Warnervale on the NSW Central Coast. As part of the greater Warnervale residential development, the former Central Coast Council owned landfill was remediated and developed as a public recreation area. The site was used for quarrying and landfilling for approximately 20 years between 1969 and 1989.
