Demolition of Water Pumping Station

Synergy was engaged by Sydney Water Corporation to perform hazardous building material removal and demolition of a disused Water Pumping Station located in Davidson, Sydney NSW. The Davidson Water Pumping Station played a crucial role as a Sydney Water Asset, catering to the municipal water supply in Sydney’s Northern Beaches. However, as part of comprehensive network upgrades, the pump station became obsolete and not required for continued use.
Yamba Angourie Sports Fields

Yamba Angourie Sports Fields

Clarence Valley Council engaged Synergy to design and construct the irrigation and drainage system for the Angourie Sports fields to address the rising water table, flooding and salinity issues on site. The design necessitated the incorporation of a herringbone drainage system, incorporating a significant central drain strategically placed in the field. This addresses the main issue of variable shallow water tables impacting the quality of the turf, along with inefficient water drainage influenced by tides.

Sludge Pond Reclamation and Dewatering

Synergy was engaged by Inghams Enterprises Pty Limited at Byron Bay to recover sludge stored in two pondsand remove from the site. The waste sludge was produced from two sources: recovered sludge from thedissolved air flotation system which treated the process water and discardedchicken spoil. Synergy undertook recovery and removal of sludge from the ponds viatwo methods.The first method reclaimed the less viscous liquid component of the sludge via a hydraulic slurry pump for processing in Synergy’s onsite two-stage sludgedewatering system.

The dredge material was separated using our bespoke shaker deck into three different size fractions, oversized shell grit, clean sand and unsuitable sediments.
Malabar Headland

Malabar Headland

Synergy carried out civil and remediation works for three main areas; Small - Bore Range, Services Range Stop Butt, The Range Administration and other buildings. The former Small – Bore Range was located on the western portion of the Malabar Headland and required significant remediation works to remove underlying landfill material to make way for a proposed Equestrian facility.  Approximately 50,000m3 of landfill material was excavated, transported and placed in a containment cell, contaminants that were identified included Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM), Volatile Organic Compounds, Hydrocarbons and Heavy Metals.
